AiroTEC Shares Knowledge with Youth to Raise Awarenessof Global Warming through Tree Carbon Sequestration Assessment

The Asian Center of Excellence for Air Quality, Space Technology, Geo-Informatics, and Environmental Engineering (AiroTEC), Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, led by Asst.Prof.Dr.Ratchaphon Samphutthanont, Director of AiroTEC, together Asst.Prof.Baicha Wongtui, Asst. Prof. Dr. Phathranit Kitthitinan, Ms. Patcharin Somput, and students from the Management Program, organized a community outreach and knowledge-sharing activity to raise awareness of global warming through the assessment of tree carbon sequestration in Chiang Mai Province. The event was held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at the 15th Floor Conference Room, Rajabhat Chalerm Phrakiat Building, Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, with students and teachers from Sansai Wittayakhom School participating in the activity.


The activity aimed to enhance knowledge and understanding of climate change and to encourage youth participation in global warming mitigation through the assessment of the carbon sequestration potential of trees. In addition, participants learned about the application of space technology and geo-informatics in supporting sustainable environmental management.


This project reflects Chiang Mai Rajabhat University’s role as a higher education institution committed to local development and reinforces AiroTEC’s mission as an organization that integrates science and technology to address issues related to air quality, climate change, and natural disasters. Through these efforts, AiroTEC continues to improve the quality of life of communities and promote sustainable environmental development at both the local and national levels.
